Dr. Jerome Okoro holds a Ph. D (Energy Law) from the University of Ibadan, with a dissertation on the development of Oil & Gas Marginal Fields in Nigeria; a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Lagos, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B), Second Class Upper from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. He is the Managing Partner of Tetralex Legal & Advisory, a law firm, based in Lagos, with specialization in Tax litigation and advisory, commercial litigation and Energy Law. Dr. Okoro’s exceptional expertise in Litigation, Tax Law, and Energy Law, is founded on rich practice experience from the top-tier law firms, and at the Legal Department of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). At FIRS, he prosecuted several cases, and got an impressive number of landmark judgments on intricate issues of Tax generally, and Petroleum Taxation in particular, in favour of FIRS. He has also won cases against some State revenue authorities that saved taxpayers huge tax liabilities.
He has published several articles in reputable local and international journals on Tax and Energy Law, contributed chapters to books on Tax and Oil & Gas Law in Nigeria, and presented public lectures and press interviews on controversial developments in tax and petroleum law, including the PIA.
Dr. Jerome Okoro is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), International Fiscal Association, and the Nigerian Bar Association.
