- Scope
This Refund and Cancellation Policy (the “Policy”) applies to all purchases made directly through ME Academy, including digital courses hosted on Our LMS and digital products available in the SME Hub (such as templates, toolkits, and similar downloadable items). If Your purchase was made through a third-party platform or marketplace, please contact such third-party directly, as its refund terms may differ.
- Definitions
In this Policy:
We, Our, Us means ME Academy
You, Yours means the person or organisation that makes the purchase.
- Online Courses (LMS)
Refunds for digital courses are available under the following conditions:
- You must submit Your refund request within three (3) calendar days of purchase.
- You must have accessed less than ten percent (10%) of the course content, as determined by LMS activity logs.
- If You have accessed bonus modules, downloaded any course materials (including assessments or resource packs), or downloaded a certificate, Your purchase is considered non-refundable.
- Refunds will be subject to a 4% (four percent) administrative fee and are exclusive of any VAT or processing fees, which are non-refundable.
ME Academy reserves the right to decline refund requests that do not meet these conditions.
- Digital Templates, Toolkits, and Instant Downloads (SME Hub)
Due to the instant nature of digital downloads, all sales are final once any file has been accessed or downloaded.
If the file is corrupted, or You received the incorrect item, please contact Us within forty-eight (48) hours of purchase. We will, at Our discretion, replace the file or offer a refund. Any approved refund will be subject to a 4% administrative fee, and VAT/processing fees are non-refundable.
- Declining a Refund Request
Some of the grounds on which We will decline a refund request include, but are not limited to:
- You changed Your mind and do not want the online course or digital product after You have purchased it.
- You bought the online course or digital product by mistake.
- You do not have sufficient expertise to understand and/or use the online course or digital product.
- How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email support@me-academy.org with the following:
- Your full name
- Order number or transaction number
- A brief explanation for Your request
We will review Your request within five (5) business days. If Your refund is approved, it will be processed to the original payment method within ten (10) business days. Your bank or card provider may require additional time to reflect the refund.
- Duplicate Charges and Billing Errors
If You were charged more than once for the same item (whether an online course from Our LMS or a digital product from the SME Hub), or were incorrectly billed, please notify Us. We will verify the issue and correct it promptly. The administrative fee will not be applied to the refund of duplicate charges, but the duplicate charge refunded to You will be less the amount of the VAT/processing fees charged on the transaction.
- Abuse and Chargebacks
Refund requests and chargebacks are monitored for abuse. If We identify patterns of misuse or fraudulent claims:
- Your account may be suspended or permanently deactivated
- Access to related courses, products, or future purchases may be restricted
- In the event of a payment dispute initiated through Your bank, We may suspend access to the disputed course or product until the matter is resolved
- Subscriptions
If We offer subscription services, the following terms apply:
- You will be informed of the billing period and renewal terms at sign-up.
- You may cancel Your subscription at any time, but the cancellation will apply at the end of Your current paid period unless stated otherwise.
- Taxes, Fees, and Currency
All prices shown on Our website are exclusive of applicable taxes (such as VAT), processing fees, or bank/foreign exchange charges. These additional charges are Your responsibility and are non-refundable.
- Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Policy limits Your statutory rights under applicable law. Where consumer laws grant mandatory rights (such as a cooling-off period), We will comply accordingly.
- Governing Law
This Policy is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising under or relating to the Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the State High Court in Lagos State.
- Policy Updates
We may revise this Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on Our website, with the effective date clearly indicated at the top. Your continued use of Our LMS and/or SME Hub and/or continued purchases from the LMS or the SME Hub constitutes Your acceptance of the updated Policy.
